In 2011 I had my first booth at Disney’s D23 Expo, which was very exciting. Having a booth lead me to enter in my first Disney art contest, which I was a finalist. My piece was “101 Reasons To Celebrate” which was on display at Disney’s D23 Expo in 2011 and the piece will be included in the Disney Archives. In 2012 I entered the Disney/Mindstyle art contest 100-Acre Wood Artist & Friends and was the grand prizewinner with my piece “Home is Where The heart is Pooh”. The original 9” Vinylmation “Home is Where The Heart is Pooh” has a home at Mindstyle in China. I contunie to creat art because art is a big part of who I am.
I'm a self-taught artist; I began with pastels when I was very young. Portraits became the favorite creative avenue for many years. I moved into oils but found it too slow because of drying time. I also work with airbrushing, acrylics and clay. I have used entire interior and exteriors of sailboats and homes as my canvas. I have also used furniture and many other things as my canvas. In 2009 I found a new canvas in the Disney Create Your Own Vinylmations. I still create custom Vinylmations today. I enjoy working with the Mickey Mouse mold. I love telling stories through my art.
